The Art Process
PEACE, shows what Miami is all about, citizens of the world coming to Miami for different reasons most of them for some PEACE. People from Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Haiti, Nicaragua, Mexico, etc... Basically when any one in Latin America and the Caribbean countries feels its basic way of life is threatened they want to run for PEACE and the first place they think is Miami.
PEACE, by Luis Jimenez, was completed on March 15, 2010. The welded aluminum sculpture is 8 ft. high x 8 ft. wide x 4 ft. deep and weighs 600 lbs. To install, it requires a pneumatic tire forklift.
"I think the citizens of the world can identify with PEACE at this troubled times, especially the citizens of Miami, it's POWERFUL BEAUTIFUL AND ATTRACTIVE it attracts with young and old, it will become an icon of MIAMI."
